{"id":5422,"date":"2024-01-16T13:06:38","date_gmt":"2024-01-16T12:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worck.eu\/?p=5422"},"modified":"2024-01-16T13:06:52","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T12:06:52","slug":"new-publication-exploring-labor-coercion-through-im-mobility-and-the-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worck.eu\/2024\/01\/16\/new-publication-exploring-labor-coercion-through-im-mobility-and-the-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"New Publication: &#8220;Exploring Labor Coercion through Im\/mobility and the Environment&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the publication of the special issue &#8220;Exploring Labor Coercion through Im\/mobility and the Environment (18th-20th centuries)&#8221; in the Journal <em>Labor History<\/em>. edited by Claudia Bernardi, Amal Shahid, and M\u00fcge \u00d6zbek.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-3 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column\">\n<div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-column-has-shadow fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\">\n<div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\">\n<p>Labour migrations have been a major topic of discussion for migration scholars along the 20<span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> century. In the first decade of the 2000s, following the formulation of the \u2018new mobilities paradigm\u2019, some labor scholars started to explore the possibilities of the concept of im\/mobility as an interpretive framework for understanding processes of work and labour. The essays contribute to the continued cross-fertilisation between mobility studies and labour studies by exploring the theoretical and methodological prospects of focusing on particular assemblages of temporal-spatial practices that simultaneously compel and confine movement, while exploring labour coercion.
